A quick look at any of the modeling forums will show how popular the show has been in previous years and what an impact it has on the Sport in the south of England.
With the sad loss of Sandown, the Southern Model Airshow is now the premier show for the south as well as being one of the most family oriented shows of the year. There are very few shows in the modeling calendar where you will see so many families enjoying the day out.
I must say a big thanks to all the crew who worked so hard to make it all happen, without these guys (and girls) from the Croydon Airport MFC and all the others working, serving, cooking and organising the show would not be the success it is - Thanks All..

2008 Dates Announced..
Aviation adventures arrive at the Hop Farm on the weekend of the 20th and 21st September 2008 with the Southern Model Airshow, which has earned the accolade of the ‘South’s premier model air show’.The Airshow just keeps getting better and better with a 100+ model pilots, a pair of full size stunt planes, a full size Helicopter display, pyrotechnic display, low flybys and displays from boats and cars to tanks, trains and Darlek's. Full permanent camping facilities, Friendly trade stalls and a large ‘Bring and Buy area’, flying from 9.30am to 5pm daily and then 'off the peg' flying into the evening as well as the famous Saturday Night Party complete the picture.
One of the few shows in the modelling calendar where you will see so many families enjoying the day out.
If you only attend one show this year, this has to be it..
